    • Why I remain a virgin.
Comments

I don't think that this woman's emotional growth is necessarily stunted because she's decided at 26 to remain a virgin. In fact, I think that she's more emotionally together because she's figured out what she can and cannot handle right now and she's holding off.

But if she's so concerned about the images that she's being hit with in terms of media, might I suggest that she stop watching Lifetime, reading Cosmo, and going to see Lindsey Lohan movies.

Ouch, i would kill myself if i didnt lose my virginity by 13!!!!!!
How can you compare one of the "best experiences on earth" to roadkill or gun violence?!? The consequences of sex are rarely as damaging as you make them to be. Not everyone faces the moral dilemma that you do; some people just want to have sex! And for those that do get hurt (provided its safe/STD free sex), as with many growing pains and life lessons, they learn from the experience and are better off for it. There is nothing wrong with your personal choice to abstain. But you are discrediting millions of people who participate who are not psychologically damaged, as you infer they must be.

Thanks for beating us over the head with your morality. Do we really need to watse newspaper space to hear about the lifestyle choice of a 26 year old college student?

When I was 26, I didn't have the luxury of being in school. I was too busy working two jobs and trying to pay bills to worry about my lack of virginity or suggestive clothing.

Sorry my spelling stinks, it should read "pleasure"
Rebekah, feel free to continue to not have sex. I hope you have fun with your 16 cats when you're 40 and alone.

I lost my virginity at 15, maybe I should have waited but I didn't but thats a choice I made and I am not ashamed of it at all. But.....

I am 33 with no children, can I get a article discussing that??????

Better stay a college student forever if you are so fragile as to fear being desired sexually, disapproved of, heartbroken, lied to, or used. These are functions of life--real life--and not the provenance only of those rational, curious, open-minded people who are living life, taking risks, and having sex. Grow up.
