Positions players will run the 60 yard dash, field and throw from their repsective position, and hit in the cages. Pitchers will warmup and throw a bullpen for evaluation. All evaluation will be done by professional baseball scouts and Division I baseball coaches. The morning session will be very similar to a professional baseball tryout camp. The goal is to be able to give each player and honest assesment of his abilities. Following lunch, the afternoon session will focus on instruction. Extensive teaching of a variety of aspects of baseball will be covered. Infielders will beging with learning proper footwork for fielding, work on double plays and slow rollers, as well as relays from the outfield. Outfielders will learn proper routes for throwing to bases, how to go back on the ball, where to backup and more. Catchers will focus on blocking, receiving and throwing footwork. All hitters will rotate through the batting cages to work and learn the proper elements of the swing. Pitchers will go through a detailed discussion, demonstration and practice of the proper delivery. They will also learn how to warm up properly and how to train in between starts. All instruction will closely resemble the methods used in professional baseball and Division I college baseball.
The staff will include professional baseball scouts and college coaches. Penn State University Pitching Coach Jason Bell (bell) and Penn State University Recruiting Coordinator Eric Folmar (folmar) will be on staff for the camp. Pennsylvania Scouting Supervisor for the Major League Scouting Bureau Brad Fidler has also committed to be part of the staff. Matt Andeson - full time professional baseball scout for the Florida Marlins will anchor the staff. This camp is the first of its kind in central Pennsylvania and a great opportunity to learn and be evaluated be an elite staff of college coaches and professional scouts.

The goal of this camp is three fold: 1) to give prospective player's the opportunity to learn from professional baseball instructors 2) to give the prospective player the opportunity to gain an honest evaluation from professional baseball scouts of his abilities and future 3) to give the prospective player the opportunity to showcase his skills for professional baseball scouts and division I college coaches.
