You may make a complaint against William J. Bennett and his radio broadcasts by going to : http://www.srnonline.com/index-contactus.shtml I am sickened and disgusted by the remarks made by William J. Bennett on his radio show "Bill Bennett's Morning in America".
"But I do know that it’s true that if you wanted to reduce crime, you could, if that were your sole purpose, you could abort every black baby in this country, and your crime rate would go down."
The remarks and his subsequent defence of them clearly come from a background in eugenics in which he has been educated and believed in or has stumbled into.
The connection between blacks and crime is reprehensible in itself. The subject of abortion spoken about so glibly is an insult to every American's humanity.
I think it is time for William J. Bennett to remove himself from the American airwaves and allow others to communicate through the media who are not so empty of mind and cold of heart.

Perhaps in your quoting Mr. Bennett you should have continued with his next sentence. And yes, there is a link between African American's and crime... there is a link between any group that is economically depressed and crime... Get over your narrow mindedness and reralize that if an African American had made these remarks... no one would have said a word. I suppose you also would think that it would be improper to draw a parallel between homosexuals and child sexual assault... even though a group that represents about 3% of the population is responsible for about 1/3 of all crimes against children.
We have become so afraid to speak out against "protected groups" in this country that we have put our collective heads up our asses. Mr. Bennett has spent a lifetime building a solid reputation as a good and caring man. His words should either be reported and without prejudice or they should be ignored. Your quoting him, while leaving out the obvious point of his statement shows your slant and ignorance. |

Ya know for as ugly as it may of sounded Bill Bennett was speaking his mind candidly. In a certain and strong reality we should welcome such honesty. But using sex as a parallel to simply say the "biggest" "ones" win and promote ones own biggness is not conducive to a peaceful solution or a peaceful marriage. |

Funny isn't it? Funny how republicans pull out that "Freedom of Speech" chestnut when it servers THEIR purpose.
Funny how that works ......and how convenient.
Linda Ronstandt...Dixie Chicks.....Whoopie Goldberg...Bill Maher (among many others) may tend to differ with you. ....oh wait, when Kean West spoke his mind the First Lady of the United States said, "It was Disgusting" Imagine that? The First Lady thinks freedom of speech is disgusting. |
