| I think Speight should start over Brand unless Brand can come back to his old form |

That makes too much sense. The Sixers brass would never go for that, let's get real. As the great warrior-poet Ice Cube once said: If the day does not require an AK......It is good. |

Brand in his current form is much better than Speights right now. Speights is a weak defender, weak rebounder and still plays with his head up his rear half the time. |

| Speight right now will give us more offense than Brand, However Speight defense is not that weak and he can rebound his own miss. Brand is lacking tenacity on the boards |

| after limiting his time so much last year, I'm happy that he's at least first off the bench and assume that will be enough regular minutes so that he has the chance to get his groove on. that gives him a fair shot at developing his game. if he is as dedicated as he is talented, he could be starting in the playoffs. (if he isn't i don't think we make the playoffs.) |

| He can't play defense, doesn't pass, and fouls too much. Most of his fouls are of the "Bonehead" variety. He likes to leave his assignment to try and get stats like blocks. |

| Who cares who starts? It's who gets the minutes and who finishes. If you've watched the games, the 76ers generally haven't had a problem starting off games. It's when they go to the bench in the second quarter against the good teams that they've been getting waxed. |

| Teko would just like to see Maurice Speights out there shaking hands with the other team before the jump ball. That would really satisfy him as a fan. |

| Man, where you been hiding? What are your thoughts on the season so far? I think our 19-year-old youngin is going to be a good ball player. Thoughts? |

I was kinda uninspired until the Celtics game. We get shellacked, I get interested all of a sudden lol. I think the success of the Phillies and Eagles distracted me from the Sixers. I think our young guys are going to have great games and poor games and we're just going to have to take it all with a grain of salt. Thad, Speights, Smith, Lou, Carney, and Jrue are all going to be up and down from game to game, or even from quarter to quarter. Watching Shelden Williams dominate our bench was embarrassing. This journeyman cut up our bench like a knife through butter. I hope for a better effort and performance tonight. |

Yeah, I thought that was really funny. Anytime you let Sheldon Williams go off, then you are showing your coaches you want a seat on the bench (message to Jason Smith). One thing that impressed me though about the Celtics game was the play of Lou Will. Though the team fell behind, Lou still played a decent game at PG and found the open man. He should have had about 3 more assists if his teammates wouldn't have fumbled his passes. Some people are lambasting him for his D on Rondo, but the way the Cetlics run him off of double screens, no one man is going to stay in front of him. It'll have to be a total team D effort. The Celtics really play a matchup zone the whole time, but it is even more effective because they are so long at so many positions and have Rondo spearheading the attack with his onball D. But you are right about the young players for the 76ers being up and down. Hope Jordan plays them now so that they'll be ready to make a push later in the season. |

| I'm all about giving guys time they deserve on the court. But if guys are taking plays off or are playing like Division I-AA college players they need to sit down. And of course, they need to get a freakin rebound. It's all about who wants it. |

there was an article two weeks or so ago about the sixers in which the writer stated that Speights doenst understand the offense very well. I like speights alot but i wouldnt start him over brand. |

Because he blows chunks on defense. Because, unlike fans here, coaches know what they're doing more so than we do. They know more. The job is to get Brand into playing shape for the Spring, after two season-ending injuries. And, probably, because Speights, probably shows about as much desire to play defense in practice (yes, prak-tis) as he demonstrates in actual games. You do see him getting punked on D, don't you? |

| Considering the fact that majority of you picked the Sixers to finish under .500, why are we not pleasantly surprised the team is over .500 right now. Since when is Philly a given to beat Milwaukee, NJ and Knicks??? According to all of you who said this team would suck. That means the Sixers are better than the sucky teams and just not as good as the great teams. I dont care how well they would've played, I doubt very seriously their record would be any better than 3-2 anyway. They may have not gotten blown out but Orlando probably still would've beat them and even if they had survived Orlando, Boston was beating opps by and avg of 19, and what makes Philly any better than Cleveland whom Boston beat by 24? The way I see it, if a team can struggle as their starting 4 and 5 avg a combined 19 pts 8 rebs per game!! As our starting pg struggles but works on D and gives us 17,5 & 5, not to mention Speights, whom should be starting. I'm pretty optimistic about what its going to be like when they actually get it together. |

if I'm gonna start speights it will be over dalembert. i would like him to learn from a veteran low post player like brand. he is young and has lots of upside in his game he just need to develop it more with the help of a veteran. I hate what happen to brand being injured for 2 seasons and he can't really bounce back to his healthy form but i hope he can help speights develop his game and will become one of the best at the forward/center in the NBA.

| I wouldn't start apeights, but I'd start Kapono over Thad. Kapono would give the first unit more spacing, and with JS and MS it gives Thad more room to operate going to the hole, as they both hit outside shots. |

| i think Speights may start or will start over Dalembert to give the sixers more inside presence and give the sixers more space to operate because of his good perimeter shooting and by playing along with Elton Brand he can learn how to develop his game to be more productive offensively and defensively. |
