"...As ecstatic as Westphal was with his first win with the Kings, Allen Iverson was as upset after his first game with the Grizzlies. After missing the first three games while recovering from a partial right hamstring tear, Iverson played only briefly as a reserve, scoring 11 points in less than 18 minutes.

He said he had no problems with his hamstring, but had a big problem with the playing time he got from coach Lionel Hollins.

"Go look at my resume and that will show you that I'm not a sixth man," Iverson said. "I don't think it has anything to do with me being selfish. It's just who I am. I don't want to change what gave me all the success that I've had since I've been in this league."

Memphis is smart not letting him overdo it just coming back from the hamstring injury. A.I. is more upset with the media making an issue of it. But the media folks have to do something. They are a dying breed. The internet is putting them out of business left and right.

i watched the game. he played pretty well. although he did have some turnovers trying to do too much. the refs definitely don't bail him out anymore when he runs into the lane and flails his arms and screams.

He still should've finished that game out. I watched it too. Conley was getting torched, when AI was at least playing really good in addition to scoring. Gasol being out of the game for so long hurt them.

No surprise. He has always been self centered and a whiner.

Can't say if AI would've done better, but Conley let Udrih back door him with secs remaining. Prior to that he went down the lane and got his stuff patted & we know that probably wouldn't have happened with AI, because he would've pulled up for the short J in the lane.

Iverson played very well in the 2nd half, but I did not like the fact that OJ Mayo was trying to shut him out of the action. In the ist half I don't think he attempeted a shot. His plus to minus ratio was very poor in the ist half. Overall, Iverson impressed me last night. I think if we had Iverson as a baack up against New York on Saturday, their is no way the Knicks come back, since Iverson could have matched the Knick players point for point until our starters came back.

They have a good starting team, but their bench needs help.

Casppi made that block. This guy is good all around player. How come we can not find foreign players like this?

They do have a legit starting five if AI starts. I'm just not sold on Conley at all. He reminds me of Moochie Norris. Casippi(?) is a good player. I likes!

I'll try to watch it replayed tonight, I am curious to watch that squad

BTW what's your take on Zach, he's really kicking arses as far as I see from boxscores, which is great for my fantasy team

Zach was a monster. He lost weight and looks motivated. Time will tell (as it always does with him)

Damn, he really needs to shut his mouth. This is the only team in the league that would take him (seemingly), and he needs to get it through his head why that is.

I'd expect him to be upset about playing time... but it's been one game, coming back from an injury. Dude really needs to learn how to put his ego in check if he ever wants to play on a real team again (or anywhere).

No he isn't "done" Not from watching him play last night. Lionel Hollins should do himself a favor and except the fact that he's got a legitimate star on his team and play him. 18 minutes when Mike Conley is your only other alternative is ridiculous. 17 pts a game in your worst season with a horrible coach is done?
