| Why not Wright? Isn't Zimmerman a 3B from Washington? The Phils can trade Hamels for either of those players IMO. "Redneck, White Socks, And Blue Ribbon Beer"...Hank Thompson. |

| Too early top give up on Hamels but Zimmerman is good. |

| Never happen. Figgins will cost the Phils a fortune they won't pay him. They have been in love with Mark DeRosa for year so mark that down he will be the Phils 3B next year. |

| Value for value. I honestly think Hamels is going to be an up-and-down player throughout his carrer. He is not reliable. He has trade value now. Just my opinion. "Redneck, White Socks, And Blue Ribbon Beer"...Hank Thompson. |

Could be right but I firmly believe it is too early to give up on Hamels and we do need pitching badly. A hitter is easier to obtain. I doubt the Mets would make that trade for Wright anyway. They need latin players ha.

| Boldness is warrented sometimes. It is really too early for such conjecture. I think the FA market starts two weeks after the GM meetings. "Redneck, White Socks, And Blue Ribbon Beer"...Hank Thompson. |

| I would rather see who is out there free agent wise to be honest with you. Our track record with starting pitchers brought up from the minors is not all that good but lets go free agent see who is there. Definitely another reliever, maybe Beltre. I want young not old. A back up catcher would be nice and middle fielder(infielder). I like the idea of say a Sheets or Harden. Yes I know Sheets is injury prone. Also explore at the trade deadline which we always do. I do like your ideas though. Remember pitching outdoes hitting atleast good pitching. Remember the Braves no hit but their pitching was phenomenal. |

| The Phils are still strong in most areas. They have money and prestige. Amaro is a capable GM so far as I can tell. I think they can fill the holes over the winter. "Redneck, White Socks, And Blue Ribbon Beer"...Hank Thompson. |

Rolen would have been a good pick up at the trade deadline. He had a nice year. Scott Rolen does not appear on the Free Agent lists as far as I can tell. |

Zimmerman is "the face of the franchise" for the forseeable future, unless Strasburg turns out to be better than advertised. The Nationals aren't going to move him anywhere.Dennis from NJ |

I agree Ryan Zimmerman is the Nats franchise and the chances of trading for him are remote at best but the Nats are going absolutely nowhere with Zimmerman. This team has no shot for the next 4 or 5 years by them Zimmerman will be in his 30's. If you made Washingtons Gm an offer too good to pass up he'd be a fool not to take it despite the Phils being in the division. That organization is in shambles and needs alot of young talent, Zimmerman is useless to them at this point and time. If I were the Nats GM I would listen hard if the Phils offered me. Or he'll be playing 3B for Boston after they ship Lowell out of town....(along with R-Oidteez.) I know which one I'm betting on. As the great warrior-poet Ice Cube once said: If the day does not require an AK......It is good. |
