Well according to Forbes the Phils brought in $183 million dollars in 2007, the Yankees brought in $307. http://www.forbes.com/lists/2008/33/biz_baseball08_Philadelphia-Phillies_335119.html

Can't wait to see the 2008 and 2009 stats. With all the Phils apparel I see around town and all the sellouts I wonder if they've closed the gap a bit.

Who says you have to have money to spend it. That is just so retro.

I just hope they have enough to acquire another starter and a good reliever. That's all the Phils need, in my opinion anyway! Any other help would be quite okay w/me. lol!

Here's hoping you are correct, but, the question is, are the Phils mgmt. willing to do it?

I predict we get Chone Figgins, but we wait until the deadline to get another starter.

We probably don't need another starter. For next year we've got Lee, Hamels, Happ and Blanton. Fifth starter is either Moyer or Kendrick early (KK did improve significantly over the year) and probably Drabek before the end of the year. Yeah, it would be nice to add a quality starter, but I'd rather see resources devoted to the bench, the bull pen and/or 3b.
