Wouldn't surprise me at all.

You KNOW the Phils want to make a positive splash to pick us fans back up off the mat. That would sure do it.

Thank you Phillies!!!

I'll tell you what he will say now. First he will thank tha fans for supporting the team. 2nd he will say something about how next season will be even better. 3rd he will say they are going to look at every possibility and come up with what they think is the best thing for the team to improve going forward. You know the usual GM speak.

We all knew we would pick Lee's option up. I guess he walks after this season?

He said he has not talked at all with the agent about an extension, but it is something they would like to do.

So basically a bunch of nothing! They announced the Lee option though.

They need to make a decision on Pedro in the next three days:

"Pedro Feliz is a defensive master and offensive liability. His .720 OPS in 2009 was 18th among 20 qualifying third basemen, but his athleticism in the field provided rare value. The Phils hold an affordable $5 million option on Feliz and must decide within the next three days whether to exercise it. One more season of Feliz appears the most likely outcome."

Think there's any chance we could turn down the option, but negotiate a one year deal for less money?

The Reds are trying something similar with Ramon Hernandez. Though his option at $8.5M is downright offensive.

Sounds like no big name pitchers to start the season anyway. Sounds like 3rd and catcher are the our main targets. They want to upgrade the pitching but with no biggys.

I would not offer Pedro a $5 million one year deal. We could bring in Garrett Atkins for that kind of money and he is around 30 years old. I think Figgins is going to want about $8-$10 million, and Beltre even more.

So they want to get over matched again if they make it back to the WS?

figgins would solve two of our problems though, 3rd base and lead off hitter.

I like Figgins and I think we need to add more speed to our lineup and have a real leadoff hitter, I would bat Shane Vic 2nd, and probably move Jimmy to 6th spot so he can jump start the bottom of our lineup. This would be a sweet lineup:

Figgins
Victorino
Utley
Howard
Werth
Rollins
Ibby
Chooch
Pitcher

That's pretty much what I've been saying as well. Figgins has an OBP of about .400, Rollins is like .250 at best. I really hope they are talking this stuff over.

Beltre is a Boras client, so I expect an attempted raping where ever he goes. And there's no guarantee he's healthy.

I may sound crazy, but JJ Hardy just dealt to the Twins for nothing. He has about the same pop as Beltre ('04 not included), when happy.

Maybe we could have moved him, or JRoll (has the arm), to 3B and signed Hardy (26 Y.O.) to a multi-year deal that will be cost friendly?

As the great warrior-poet Ice Cube once said: If the day does not require an AK......It is good.
