| Being a fan should not be this nerve-wracking. Just sitting on this forum has my nerves shot. Me gal pal says that she won't even talk with me until the Series is over. She'll ask me things like "where's the ashtray" and I'll say "Did you know that Pedro is the starter" and it really has played with our relationship. She says that I am not listening to her. YEAH, NOT WHEN THE PHILS ARE ON, right?? But, my anxiety level is at an all-time high. I'm on five kinds of tranqs and I still can't focus or enjoy. Can someone please post why the Phils WILL WIN THIS SERIES? Please calm my nerves, please. I even may reconsider my negative attitude and not go to the Russian urban bird docudrama. |

dude, that post was awesome. man, you gotta watch this game, whatever happens. this is our revenge for the 1950 whiz kids. the phils are back in this thing now. pedro is as relaxed as could be and relishes this opportunity. ibanez is swinging better too as of late monday. howard is overdue. whatever happens, be there with your team!!! |

| You are right, the team comes first, before me heart (or me gal pal Eunice). I told her that I was going to the Russian urban bird docudrama tonight and she said "GOOD" and told me that she was going with her friends to the bingo hall. But, you know what, hell with them all. I will be watching the Phils and hopefully they pull this off. My friend Tony just reminded me that I may be a good luck charm. I only got to watch Games 1 and 5. 2-4 I was in the hospital with the flu, and I somehow got out in time to watch on Monday night. I almost had to call 911 though when Madson was pitching. I just can't take it. |

believe me i understand. i attempt to remain seated in my favorite couch position during these games but there are a multitude of situations that command me to get up and pace around my media room, talking loudly to myself. these would include: ANY phils relief pitcher entering the game; any of the top 5 hitters in the yankee lineup stepping into the box after the 6th inning, especially jeter, damon or kate-rod; any DP ball Utley will have to make the pivot throw on. just have plenty of your favorite beverages on hand to keep yourself properly sedated. |

Eunice was just whipping up a jello mold for tonights bingo tounament and I told her that I am watching the game and cancelling plans of watching the urban bird docudrama. She decided to chop up me remote so now I am not sure what I am doing. I think she is a stinking Yank~~and I am not going to take it. The whole episode with the remote made me forget about me anxiety and I am ready to watch the Phils amaze me. |

hopefully your tv has those little buttons on the side or under the flap on the front so you can power it up and tune channels. if not, just wet eunice's finger and stick it in a socket, and she should work as a remote. |

| Hah, hah, hah...you guys crack me up. This is a fun thread! I live alone so I can do what I want. I usually don my Phillies cap and World Series Champs Phils jersey and when it gets too tense I have a baseball bat length piece of an old shovel handle that I use as a bat to imitate Howard's stance. I stand between the tv and the wood stove and say to the Yankees pitcher: "Okay CC, (or Burnett or Pettite or even Rivera), come on. Gimme your best shot. I'm gonna kick your butt!" Then I wait for the pitch and swing full blast! (I usually hit a home run. (over the kitchen counter top in the next room!). When the Yanks are up I use the bat as a threatening weapon. "You hit this and I'm gonna beat your butt!" It worked in games one and five! |
