ever think that he would be pitching Game 6 of the World Series in Yankees Stadium with the Phils facing elimination? I know that when he was signed I just hoped his arm didn't fall off and he would be useful long reliever, much less a starter. Gotta love baseball!

May he write another chapter in his Hall of Fame career and also in the annals of Philly Sports Lore.

Lets Go Phils!

The only part of that which surprised me is that we are facing possible elimination. With a post season staff of Lee, Martinez and Hamels, I thought we could beat anyone in six- not face elimination. It sounds like you didnt know much about Pedro Martinez with your expectations.

I didn't think he would be starting game 6, but I did think he had a chance to be a difference maker.

he definitely does. If he gives us 7 innings strong of 2 run baseball, then I think we have a chance. If only our offense could score for him...

Hell no, wasn't thinking that far ahead with the way our pitching was at that point. But I did have him penciled in for 6 wins, which would be his Phils total this year if....

When I heard we signed Pedro, and heard that he had gotten some of his velocity back, sitting at 90-92, I knew he would be excellent and play a crucial role. I was on the record on that. With his experience, command, smarts, and the fact that he really wants the ball, I definitely saw the possibility of something like this. I have a lot of confidence in his ability to keep us in it. Plus, the other thing that people forget, is that Pedro is very fresh, as opposed to the Yanks going on 3 days rest. He doesn't have many innings this year at all.
