You know there, old boy - you have a good point. Everyone is yacking about Hamels and Myers; pitching matchups; the umpires and so on...and yet we are ignoring one of the great World Series performances of all-time.

Of course, I named one of my cats "Chase" - I might be a bit biased here.

and the only reason wade got him was bc he was willing to pay way overslot for him. definitely one of wade's lucid moments. i remember how proud i was of wade for signing a top 10 talent with a 16th or 17 th (can't remember) pick.

then wade crapped the bed repeatedly. thank god he didn't trade him for 2 old middle relievers.

Chase upsets the "cool, edgy" forum members when he does well. They then need to seek other scapegoats (Hamels, Lidge, etc.).

However, Chase invariably will strike out at least one more time in this Series or make a low throw to first base. We then will read the lemmings burst from beneath the floorboards with the usual rhetoric: he can't hit lefties, this board gives him a pass, fans defend him and get their "panties in a bunch," etc.

One of the usual whining in-game forum nancies had posted a thread during the NLCS entitled "F you Utley" or something to that effect after his error on that DP ball. Gotta love the junior high school mindset of these "fans." It does get old after awhile.

Actually it really doesn't make any difference what those sluggers do or don't do === as long as the staff pitches two perfect games.

I count myself as one who does not believe the excuse that Utley has been playing hurt. I do believe that he may be fatigued. Again, I do not condone it as an excuse though since most players are tired towards the end.

Some people just want to jump on him to "make it even" for other posters jumping all over Howard, Rollins, Lidge, etc. The thread entitled "F-U Utley" was over the top. Was interesting to see posters pile on at the time with objection to neither the thread title nor sentiment. Makes it hard to rebut the "front runner" claim by Rollins while reading such tripe.
