Rest well my fellow Phillies' fans. The Phils will clinch it with a win in Game 5. That's my prediction. After Game 5 ends we will all just have to wait and see who the opposition will be for the World Series.

The first inning is key. Set the tone with runs early, celebrate late.

The series ended Monday night. The heart of the Dodgers was removed, well, what little heart they had. The Dodgers just want to go home now. This will be a laugher.

Vinny will win, again. No celebration in Mudville tonight.

It will not be a laugher -- not after the way the Dodgers lost game 4. I suspect the Dodgers never wanted to win a game more than this one, if only to salvage some shred of pride. They are a like a wounded and dangerous animal fighting for life. The Phillies will eke it out but it will be a death struggle all the way.

If you haven't noticed; the Phils play a lot better with their backs against the wall, tonight's game is not one of those.

Not having to take another plane trip should be enough incentive. They ought to be about sick of That

This series ends tonight. And it wouldn't shock me at all if the Phils absolutely pummel Padilla & the Dodgers.

Go Phillies - Ya gotta believe!!!

High Hopes for a Phillies World Series repeat!

Chris Pronger is a Flyer! Emery & Laperriere are Flyers! Stanley Cup, here we come!

Though I think a death stuggle is the most likely scenario, your prediction also strikes me as completely plausible. The Dodgers could fold and the Phillies could romp.

The X factor is Padilla. The pressure on him is mind boggling -- elmination game for his new team, bumped up in the rotation to save the day, entire career on the line given his history with the Phillies and Rangers, a hostile crowd in his former home park, an unstable personality.

Maybe he pitches the game of his life.

Or maybe he unravels.

Neither would surprise me.

I think the pressure of the elimination game & the Philly crowd (not to mention the Phillies lineup) will absolutely make him wilt.

I think he's gonna pitch well until around the 5th-6th.....that's when we usually get to pitchers.

But, this time....once we get rolling on him, he will implode....and if it starts getting out of hand, I wouldnt be surprised to see a few beanings and the benches clear....Padilla is that type of pitcher.

That's my hunch, too, as stated on a couple of other threads. But there's no way of knowing until they play.

I will say this. Torre has been pushing all the wrong buttons so far with pitching. That suggests that bumping Padilla up to be the season-saving "stopper" could backfire.

The Flotilla will be like the Imperial Fleet in 1944. Still some impressive hardware, but no planes or pilots to back it up. The Dodgers are packing their clubs and fishing tackle for the off-season.

The Phillies will "Cross the T" on the Flotilla tonight.

Padilla is under a lot of pressure given the situation (elimination game for his team), his history with the Phillies and Rangers, and the fact that Torre has annointed him as the Dodgers' season-saving stopper by bumping him up in the rotation.

This is literally a career making or breaking game for him.

If he falls apart and starts hitting batters, he is absolutely through in MLB.

Maybe for the Dodger's Jap players, but Vinny is a ground-pounder no doubt. Infantrymen only need bullets, and Vinny has plenty left in his rifle arm

The Dodgers have been a fairly resilient team, No way will they lie down. They have a lot of faith in Padilla and i think he is pitching much better than Cole at this point. This will be an interesting game , about even money

I thought he would wilt under the pressure of his last start but he pitched the game of his life. I think Cole will have more difficulties with the pressure. Hope I am proved to be wrong.
