| Hi. I imagine I am addressing people who are connected to Philly's school system - educators primarily. But if not, that's fine. Anyone can benefit from this thread.
First some questions to consider for yourself:
1. Have you ever gotten to the bottom of a page and forgot what you just read?
2. Are you ever reading or studying and either get a headache or your eyes start to hurt inexplicably?
3. Have you or someone you know had a hard time retaining information?
4. Have you ever been reading and suddenly start to yawn a lot or dope-off, even though you had enough sleep?
I'm sorry to sound like an ad here, but the point I'm driving at is that these phenomena are so common people just accept them as a part of life. But the fact is that they are SYMPTOMS of certain study barriers, and if you know what they are, you can handle them quickly and easily, and studying becomes easier and more enjoyable for the person - and NO, the answer is NOT a stigmatizing label and a dose of drugs, but simply some education on HOW TO STUDY that most teachers don't even know.
So, if you're interested, speak up! :) I'll pop in from time to time to check on this thread and respond. But for now, I'm here.
