I work in the environmental consulting field and to assume that cleaning up the site will expose the residents to chemical hazards is just incorrect and outright fear mongering on your behalf. How you can spin cleaning up a contaminated site as a bad thing just shows your bias and lack of understanding regarding the science, health and safety and regulartory oversight involved in these projects.

What you should be concerned with is KEEPING a contaminated site around in the community. Contamination of groundwater into local streams and rivers we use, dealing with indoor soil vapor exposure from migrating and leaching chemicals and overall blight associated with these sites is reason enough to clean up.

Developing into a Professional Soccer Stadium is the next step of reclaiming the land, and on the surface seems like a shot in the arm to a town that could use the overall revenue.

I go wherever the weather provides, cause everybody needs some time outside.
