On July 1, 2008 NeighborhoodFriends.com, built with the most advanced social networking system, went live to the public in the United States and Canada. This family oriented website, has been developed to connect people to others in their community with similar interests and needs. Within 48 hours of launch, the site has attracted over 600 new members and is growing! The membership is spread from California to Toronto, Canada. Founded in 2001, NeighborhoodFriends.com was incorporated in 2002, before MySpace and Facebook. NeighborhoodFriends.com is an idea that founder Ronnie Rodes developed while searching for other joggers and first-time parents within his new neighborhood. With the birth of his child, Ronnie included a way to use this website to help protect children within their own neighborhood’s following the example of the Amber Alert program. Mike Rodes, Ronnie’s cousin and co-founder, was introduced to Extreme Exposure Media, a web site design company in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The energetic team of designers accepted the challenge to build the very best social networking site on the Internet. With the aid of new mapping technology, NeighborhoodFriends.com is able to use this key feature to show the location of the closest neighbors and or groups that share areas of common interest. There is an ongoing campaign to include additional features to the web site as the user base grows. For additional information, visit the web site at www.NeighborhoodFriends.com or call 1-800-555-5123.
