Solid win last night. The 4th line was basically doiminant. +3 for each of them. That is the way Carcillo needs to play. Don't care about the goals, they're a bonus, but harc checking, making the other team focus on him and no penalties. I also think it's fine if he doesn't fight, especially when were winning because a 4-4 can be more dangerous with more room. Still undefeated with Betts in the lineup..There's gotta be something to that. COburn and TImonen seem to have righted the ship. +2 each. Pronger, is still playing awesome. Goal and assist..just love how he gets the shot from the point on goal and low..saw this several times. Emery solid. JVR with the winning goal..enough said. As i posted on another thread, Neale and de generette, need to be wheeled off to the home ASAP. Not only the comment about Scott being John's brother, but later in the 3rd, a flyers player shot the puck over the glass IN THE OFFENSIVE ZONE from basically the O blue line, and generette says, no penalty on the Flyers for that..must have been deflected. Um, pretty sure the rule is that it has to be done in the D zone. Holy Crap. Orange and Black attack. You've just been Pronged! |

| It's because they were both drunk. Jenerette(sp?)has been know to pound a few in order that's why he starts screaming during the games. Let's not forget Rob Ray. Listening to him reminds me of Stallone in the original Rocky. How can a career goon that was always a health scratch come playoff time be considered a "hockey expert". I can't wait till the Flyers hire Cote to replace Coatesy! |

| I miss Bob Cole and Harry Neale working the HNIC broadcast.A lot more character than the deadheads they have now. "I'd like to congratulate the Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes. They sure impressed me on that frozen-water surface. They scored the ball into the goal in all three innings and afterward, let me drink from the Stingley Cup. A lifelong dream for a South Carolina Resident"

Good points Rhexy. Perhaps most important to me were two things: 1) they beat a top tier goalie who was hot 2) their effort was outstanding. Despite being riddled with the flu bug, they showed CHARACTER in a win which is something that was missing from their efforts last season overall. Carcillo has been playing well all season. He has been hitting, playing with energy and not taking dumb penalties. It was nice to see him rewarded with being on the ice for an empty net goal. As much as I dislike Stevens it was a good move on his part. For all those Jon Sim (oops I mean Scottie Upshall) fans, Car Bomb in one game almost cut Upshall's goal output in half (5 - 2). In addition Carcillo has been playing smart and physical and being there to drop the gloves when need be.

"Scott being John's brother" I heard that too and thought, "did he really say that?" |

This team is settling in and looks great. Pronger looks comfortable as the teams leader and Emery outplayed one of the games best goaltenders. JVR is a beast in the making and Coburn and Timmonen have righted their ship. If you really break it down, we have the best top 4 defensive unit in the NHL, we can roll four lines and I believe Emery is capable of dominating the playoffs. It is still early, but we look poised to be serious CUP contenders. |

| Looked like they gave a crap, nice to watch when they care. Now if they could only do something with Briere and Gagne don't need them they play better as a unit without them. |

| I'm really liking our d-men right now. Not just for the "d", but it's been awhile since we've had multiple d-men that can score. |

| We didn't just match Buffalo's speed, we blasted past them!... It was neat to watch wave-after-wave of pressure!... It was funny listening to the pompously-stunned commentating in that game!... hee hee... have another on me Rich! |
