I for one am feeling good.

If he was still playing as well as he was the first few games, I'd still be skeptical.

Ray is playing solid well. Not ridiculous well (I'd still be waiting for the other shoe to drop)

But rather well in a way that I can feel confident about. Like maybe he can be the goalie that this team needs... not the one of their dreams, but rather the realistic one the need.

How about y'all?

Solid, SOLID goaltending and he has the ability to make very athletic saves. He has made a couple ree-diculous saves so far.

better by a long way than Biron.

Not as good as I would like, BUT:

They spread the scoring around like last year, keep the PP at top 5 in the league, PK at top 5, KEEP HITTING, and the Flyers are battling for #1 overall. Hard to see them lower than 4th seed.

I completely agree with you. I'm confident watching this team with him between the pipes.

I know he gives up some big rebounds sometimes, but I can't really complain about them because he ends up making a ridiculous save off of that rebound totally redeeming himself. (Dumb and Dumber just popped in my mind....TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF) haha.

Anyway, I think he's the best goalie this team has had in quite a while. I'm still not used to him yet. It's going to take a while for all of us to get used to the fact that we have pretty solid goaltending. We've dealt with mediocre or less than mediocre netminding for so long. Sometimes when I see a shot coming I think Oh great, here comes a goal, then I snap out of it and remember we have Emery. It's like the crappy goaltending still haunts my mind.

I agree, the guy can come up huge when we really need him to, yes he has given up a few questionable ones, but it is still early in the year, and he continues to show this "Presence" in nets, something which I can't recall us having since Hextall.

Last night his presence in the crease pushing Sabers out of the way was another plus to me.

Seems like he's giving them a chance to win every night. Also held them in a couple games when they came out flat. NOT gaffe prone. I'd like to see him continue to improve his puck handling.

I have to admit, I thought Emery was a terrible risk initially. Gambling at the goaltending spot can lead to disaster. I had no reason to believe he wouldn't be a head case.

Well, so far, I am pleased with what I see. Seems he is taking this chance seriously, is working hard and it is translating to some solid goaltending out there. I agree, it isn't ridiculous, just solid.

For so many years goaltending has been a worry, it is nice to worry about other aspects of the team for a change. The kid is making a fan out of me.

He's looking good so far, loving it that he's playing all the games except 1. I think he'll be good or great for the rest of the year and it also depends on our d-men as well.
