"I think the game plan was, every time Alex touches the puck, that somebody run or hit him," Boudreau said. "That's what it looked like to me."

"That would be correct," Hitchcock said. "That's the name of the game. Why, is that against the rules now?"

lmao

Well, he didn't have a whole lot of supporters on this board at the time. I do miss him though, certainly more colorful that Stevens.

I brought this up to my brother the other day. There seemed to be some tension in the locker room with Hitch and I think it's because they were all veteran players that didn't want to learn anything from him. So they hires the complete opposite of him in Stevens hoping that those vets (JR, Primeau, Recci, LeClair) could play the way they know how to play and just have the coach in the background. The problem with that is they replaced the vets with young hotshots. Now the coach is still in the background while the hotshots do whatever they want.

I would love to have him back to be a figure of authority for these young guys. He seemed to turn it around for Columbus.

And there's more, I didn't even read all the way down:

[A reporter mentioned to Hitchcock that there's distinction between "run" and "hit." Hitchcock did not see it that way.

"Run, chase, hunt down, hit, whatever word you want to use that would be correct," Hitchcock said.]

I wouldn't want hitch back to save the planet.

Well maybe to save the planet.

I'd hire him to run our defense maybe.

Personality now? He didn't show much when he was here.

The team didn't either They played strong D and didn't score much.

I appreciate what he's saying, but where was that attitude when he was here and they were sitting our guys for perfectly legal stuff?

He had themaker03, that was enough support for an entire board's worth.

I knew we could win the World Series. Hold on, this is for Philadelphia, this is for our fans. And listen around here, who's the World Champions?!"
