It's probably a misdiagnosis from the Grade A medical staff. Beware.

2nd that emotion. It's early in the season, no rush. I think he seriously re-injured himself last time when he came back from injury when he was doing his lil fist-pump after scoring. So DB, chillax on the celebrations please!

For sure i mean if it was playoffs than of course get him back in as soon as we can but as you said we got lots of season yet. No rush needed.

Before this "pulled Quad" story, didn't someone print "Groin problem"? If the groin thing was from a team source - and not pure speculation - I smell BS on this pulled quadricep story.

Anyone can tell a pulled quad from a pulled/strained groin. Unless they want to start calling the TOP of your thigh your groin...

not to defend the uber-qualified philly med staff, but I just saw this...
"a pull to the inner thigh area, below his quad muscle."

Still not sure how that is confused with a groin pull, but I guess the inner thigh is closer than the quad. (man, that is open for a smart a** rebuttal)

There was no confirmation other than 'lower body injury' from the team. Which leaves the door open for plenty of speculation but it's now standard policy for all NHL teams to not disclose an injury other than the general upper or lower body in recent years.

It was probably speculation from one of the beat writers or a poster here on the forum that caused more concern than there needed to be?

being reported as a groin.

are we sure it's not a groin?

because let me tell you, that would be very bad.

I couldn't remember where I read it...Philly.com I think, and it probably was speculation. NEway, I know they never reveal injuries anymore - used to be just for playoffs. If it is a quadricep or inner thigh (below groin, as reported yesterday) then that's good.

I've had pulled Quads and they hurt but they are easier recovery than actual groin.

Laliberte (sp.?) is looking pretty good though, with NHL linemates! Simon who??

Yeah, so far so good for him. But let's also keep in mind it's two games against weaker teams.
A healthy Briere and Gagne will be needed for this teams to do real damage down the stretch and post season.

But his emergence could send a guy like Pyorella, to the Phantoms for the third line if he can continue to chip in offensively and fill in as a top 6 forward.

i hope they give him 2 months to come back, i really think he should be traded when the deadline comes, he's pretty much a lazy player and very clumsy with the puck,

i mean this team is playing better without briere and gagne
