Right about now, Holmgren is wishing that the Leafs would have accepted his paltry offer of Carter & a 1st rounder for the outrageously talented Kaberle. 12 points in his last 4 games??? 17 points on the year to lead all NHL defensemen??? Still in the prime of his career & only at 4.25 mil a year--the guy's a steal. Burke has told Holmgren that there's NO-ONE on the Flyers' roster that he'll consider trading Kaberle for, so it looks like a few more years of Matt Carle leading the charge. | Please read the title of the thread--I'm talking about Kaberle. Attempting to change the subject does not take away from his accomplisHment. Holmgren is VERY upset that this deal never transpired. Now he's stuck with an old & uninspired Chris Pronger until he's 65. |

Yes, I'm sure Paul was crying in his coffee last year when Carter popped in 46 goals and Kaberle had half the points of his previous 3 years. Oh, and Carter isn't near his prime yet. Kaberle is a good offensive defenceman but not so good defensively. He's like an old version a Matt Carle, who hasn't won the coveted award all Leaf fans base their year on, Player of the Week, though he has similiar stats. Think Boston will take Hall, Seguin or Fowler with the first of two lottery picks from the Leafs? :) el Capitan Cannonista |

| You should know that the Leafs have terrible luck with drafts (minus Wendel Clark of course). So when our pick goes to Boston, we all know that they'll get shafted in the lottery & then end up with some guy who loses an arm in a tractor accident. |
