When are the Flyers going to finally get rid of this guy?

Everyone is talking during the offseason of his "potential" 20 goals.

Please get rid of this clown, he is nothing but a liability to this team.

Lappy and Asham will be the enforcers on this team, not Carcillo

Carillo, played well today. Drew the first PP that the team scored on took the body all day and was disciplined while agitating the other team all day.

That is exactly what he is here to do.
The line he was on hemmed the Stall, line in the their end on a few occasions for their whole shift! Did you not see that or you can't tell when a checking line is doing it's job very well??

Learn how to watch a hockey game before you spew stupid stuff that is senseless.

He is playing his game but if he starts going to the puck more often JMO I think he will get more opportunities.

I disagree, Carcillo has been great. Playing in control and fierce on the forecheck. Him and Laperriere to go along with Betts might be the best 4th line in hockey.

Players like Carcillo, have to play a disciplined game and there chances will come. He nearly had a couple chances just for staying in his lanes and taking the body.

Any goals and assist from that line are gravy. If they can hem the other teams top line in their own end for a whole shift they did their job.

I agree with everyone else. He is doing his job. He drew a few penalties today. He's not going to be a big goal scorer, if that's what you're hoping for.

Now that Carcillo is on the fourth line, I don't think we can still measure his success based on offensive prowess. I think he does have the ability to be a 20 goal scorer on a 2d or 3d line, but his job description is different now. So far, he's doing a great job. He's drawing powerplays, bottling up the other teams in their own end, and answering the bell when the other team challenges our toughness.

You should do a bit of research before spewing forth. A couple of tid bits for you:

1) Carcillo has a better +/- than Lappy AND Asham while playing the same amount of minutes as Asham per game and 3 less than lappy.

2) Lappy has scored 1 more point than Carcillo and Asham 2 more points than Carcillo.

While I do agree with the lament about wanting to see more in the way of offensive production, the guy is doing the job defensively and for the most part being in control of not taking stupid penalties, while being ANOTHER in the way of big agitator on the team.

P.S. God gift to hockey (aka Scottie Upshall) has two more points than Carcillo, is an even +/- player and has the same number of Pen minutes (except we know with Scottie, they are all the stupid minor penalty variety).

are you kidding me with this post right now? when is the last time that he took a minor penalty and put them down a man? I don't think he's had a bad penalty since the first couple of games. He definitely has been playing more disciplined, and the guy plays with so much heart and so much energy that he creates something on almost every shift. At this point, I'm happier with Carcillo's effort right now then that of some of our supposed superstars.

Further to your point, Upshall was benched last Thursday for taking too many "reckless" penalties.

I think Carcillo played great. Big hits drew some penalties, is not bad with the puck. He is not taking stupid penalties. He is a better fit than Uppie. Plus he can fight like nobody's bees wax.

"Learn how to watch a hockey game "

where can i get lessons? i can't get the hang of it....everything is going well....then *bam* i realize that i'm doing it wrong. it's a timing problem, i think. something in my my couch-sitting mechanics is getting in the way of my remote control release, and i'm ending up watching the home shopping network.

i think i'd be a pretty good hockey game watcher, i just need a few good lessons and some practice. the problem is i don't want some instructor teaching me their weird hockey watching technique, you know? i have my approach, and i just want someone to help me with a few little things, not totally re-build my game watching from the ground up.

if you know of anyone who has a good fundemental understanding of hockey game watching and knows how to work with what a student already has, let me know. i don't want to be a pro or anything...i just want to be able to sit down on a sunday with a few friends and have a good time without embarrasing myself.

thanks.

He has been playing well all season and doing exactly what he has been asked to do and not getting called for very many penalties against. Not saying that there also isn't a Phantom, who can play a similar game but Carcillo, is certainly not a waste.

But fans like you who are biased against him will never 'see' this and bash him every chance you see fit.

No point in trying to explain the good things he has been doing to someone who doesn't understand the game enough.

I wouldn't waste my time or the time of anyone else one someone who thinks they know all there is to know about the game and is just being a smart as s with a reply like that.
I know you enjoy being a top smart as s as well so I will expect to see another witty reply that will be a waste of my time.

When people post things that are completely stupid and nonsense their lack of 'hockey knowledge' just pours through in what they have to say.

pft.

carcillo was brought in billed as a third option offensive winger who would be a nasty, gritty tool in the flyers' goalscoring toolchest. he is super duper not any of that.

yeah, he's doing the job that's asked of him. which is to be a 4th line plumber who can kill some time while the actual hockey players on the team get a rest.

that's a job that needs to be done, so good on him. it's also a job that 70% of the AHL could do. a guy filling that role isn't a waste, but i am completely sympathetic to people who can't get the taste of the price paid for that guy out of their mouth. think what you will about upshall, but throw in the 2nd round pick...for a skill set that could have come off the UFA pile for league minimum. put it all in perspective, and i undersand how people see the carcillo situation as a whole as a waste.

and dude's GOT TO get rid of that molester-stache.

also, telling someone to learn how to watch a hockey game is about the most retarded thing ever. seriously.

Excellent points, aziz. Agreed on all counts.

Carcillo has been fine as a 4th-liner. He is infinitely more useful than Cote, but then again, so is every other forward on this roster. I still have to chuckle at the posters on here that insist he is a 15-20 goal scorer ... I just don't see it.

Because he is doing everything he needs to do.

While he isn't showing up on the score sheet he is contributing.

He is drawing penalties, hitting, setting up goals with hustle, fighting smartly, and most importantly, not taking stupid penalties.
