Alright, I know it's Dallas and it's in Philly, and it's for 1st place and momentum and everything else. We know all that stuff. But that's Sportscenter media crap. Given all what has happened in the last 5 games of the regular season and in the playoffs is this really a huge game for either team? Dallas got us in game 2 last year on Monday night but what happened when the season really was on the line? For every SB winner besides the Pats (who were cheating) in the last 10 years, did week 9 really matter? Every team besides the Pats recently that has won the SB did not look great right now. Steelers both times, Buccs, Ravens, Giants, Colts, Pats the first time, have won the SB without being great at mid season. And a ton of teams that went deep in the playoffs didn't look great right now either including the Eagles. Look at the Cards last year or Carolina when they went to the SB. I think the Eagles are better than Dallas now and they'll be better later but I've seen this script before. Pretty much no team that was great at this point in the season won the SB recently. That's all we care about after all these years with DM and AR right? It'll be nice to win the game but if Dallas crushed the Eagles, I still wouldn't be that worried. The Eagles almost always look good after Thanksgiving and Dallas almost always doesn't. I don't know if it is psychological or it's watching film or whatever but it is definitely a pattern of the NFL these days. The fact is the team that wins the SB and a lot of the teams that go far in the playoffs get hot late. And to me, it is just isn't late enough yet. Give the Eagles some time to get their Oline healthy and play some games together. Let Maclin develop a few more weeks. Let Witherspoon and the defense gel. This team showed last week that they can be very good. And I'm excited. But as long as they make the playoffs and their key players are healthy, I think they can win in the playoffs. They won 2 playoff games on the road last year and they looked horrible at this time last year. So I'm not really worried about homefield advantage. They lost 3 straight NFCC games in a row at home. I'm just not worried about playing a road game in the playoffs. I've seen too much of AR's teams. Just win enough to get in the dance and we have as good of a chance as anybody and roll the dice again. Thoughts? Sports aren't meant to be about hatred. The rival loves the game just like you do. Don't hate the rival. Love the rivalry. |
