Alright, I know it's Dallas and it's in Philly, and it's for 1st place and momentum and everything else. We know all that stuff. But that's Sportscenter media crap.

Given all what has happened in the last 5 games of the regular season and in the playoffs is this really a huge game for either team? Dallas got us in game 2 last year on Monday night but what happened when the season really was on the line? For every SB winner besides the Pats (who were cheating) in the last 10 years, did week 9 really matter? Every team besides the Pats recently that has won the SB did not look great right now. Steelers both times, Buccs, Ravens, Giants, Colts, Pats the first time, have won the SB without being great at mid season. And a ton of teams that went deep in the playoffs didn't look great right now either including the Eagles. Look at the Cards last year or Carolina when they went to the SB.

I think the Eagles are better than Dallas now and they'll be better later but I've seen this script before. Pretty much no team that was great at this point in the season won the SB recently. That's all we care about after all these years with DM and AR right?

It'll be nice to win the game but if Dallas crushed the Eagles, I still wouldn't be that worried. The Eagles almost always look good after Thanksgiving and Dallas almost always doesn't.

I don't know if it is psychological or it's watching film or whatever but it is definitely a pattern of the NFL these days. The fact is the team that wins the SB and a lot of the teams that go far in the playoffs get hot late. And to me, it is just isn't late enough yet.

Give the Eagles some time to get their Oline healthy and play some games together. Let Maclin develop a few more weeks. Let Witherspoon and the defense gel. This team showed last week that they can be very good. And I'm excited.

But as long as they make the playoffs and their key players are healthy, I think they can win in the playoffs. They won 2 playoff games on the road last year and they looked horrible at this time last year. So I'm not really worried about homefield advantage. They lost 3 straight NFCC games in a row at home.

I'm just not worried about playing a road game in the playoffs. I've seen too much of AR's teams.

Just win enough to get in the dance and we have as good of a chance as anybody and roll the dice again. Thoughts?

I think it's all about perception. Even if the winner/loser of this game means nothing in real terms, it's how they play in a perceived big game atmosphere.

I see a game much like the first game last year when both QBs played well at times and choked in others.

It should be an up and down game. And whomever has the ball last, LOSES.

Witten will be huge for them. Samuel will be huge for us.

That's how I see it.

Don't be afraid of Kolb. It's only progress.

Looking at the big picture, you want to win and dominate teams through out the season. That would include beating a division rival like Dallas.

Will losing to Dallas make or break our season? I don't think so. But to be consistent, which I think is one of the keys to being a contender, you have to win these type of games.

It's bigger for Dallas because December has been disastrous for them - unlike Philly. And, I'm certain last year's debacle is still fresh on Dallas' mind because of how they lost, not to mention what was on the line.

3-0 in the division makes this a big game. I do not think that we will run away, we may need tie breaker.

I agree, the division record will be huge down the road. Plus 1 of our losses is to an AFC team so our NFC record would also be good if it came down to that.

I think it means more to the fanbase as far as feeling out what the team is...than it does to actually playoff implications.

If the Eags lose their still well in the hunt...with plenty of quality games left. The fans will just be left scratching their heads wondering 'who are we?' for another week.

I can see how you might feel that way, but I don't think the veterans on this team perceive this as a big game really. Sheldon and Westy and McNabb were around when they lost in the division and then beat them multiple times when it mattered more. I think the Giants game last week was just as big and they couldn't have responded better. That's just how I see it.

That's my point. It is all but proven that you don't necessarily need to be consistent and win these type of games yet at this point in the season.

From my observation, AR's teams have always responded by playing well after looking pretty bad at some point unless they were too injured to do so. (05 and 07) Every other year they played better than they were playing in early November. It's just a pattern that they have gone by more than half of their years under AR.

I agree that they need to respond to their embarrassment last year in Philly in week 17. But I think it is also much more important for them to play well in December and January than it is to play well now. That has been their pattern of weakness with Romo and Philips. Again just a pattern but it is something that is on their minds as December approaches.

I'm not sure we run away with the division either. But we were 2-4 in the division last year so I don't care much about that either. Again just my opinion. Not enough for me to believe it's a big game.

Exactly. Crushing the Cowboys always makes us feel good, including myself. It gives me a reason to have an extra shot of bourbon late on a Sunday night. Lol. But in the end, I'm not worried about it too much win or lose. Every game counts on your record so it matters in that aspect. But the way the NFL and the Eagles are these days, it's really just another game as far as playoff and SB implications in my opinion.

I live in DC and I don't hear much from the Skins fans about beating the Eagles twice last year. They know it was just the way the season rolled out and the Eagles are just a flat out better franchise.

All tiebreakers were off because of our tie with Cinc.
If we lost that Cinc game, I believe the last Dallas game wouldn't have mattered.

The Birds need to hold serve at home. Plus there could be playoff implications down the road should both teams continue to play well.

With Atlanta, Green Bay, SF and Chicago vying for playoff spots, there might not be room for two NFC East teams in the post season.

This is NO TIME to get slack and expect to come back later should they lose on Sunday.

O>O>O>O>O> Go Eagles!

Big is a relative term. They can't all be big. That's like saying you can't say Reggie Brown sucks. He doesn't suck compared to me. I sure as hell can't cover him.

Exactly so in the end, the Cinci game mattered as much or more than either Dallas game.

It is big because it's a divisional game. If we are tied with Dallas for a playoff spot but have more divisional wins then them or beat them head to head we get the spot. That's why it is so big.
