Even with the Phils taking on "The Evil Empire" in the WS, "Beat dallas" week is a very special time of the football season.

Dave Spadaro has a pretty decent article referencing the new Eagles and their first exposure to this rilvary.

It's always great to beat the cowgirls...even when the Birds were woeful it was great to beat them.

Last year's 44-6 trouncing is a recent memory that is close to the top for all time favorite wins. How about the "Merry Christmas Philly" win down in dallas in 06. Or the "Run Lito, Run" win at home earlier that same year.

Another favorite was the "Flipping Willis" victory in 96; The cowgirls were down 24-21 with a minute to go in the redzone and Aikman threw a pick to MLB James Willis in the endzone, Willis "Flipped" the ball to Troy Vincent who went in to seal the 31-21 victory.

And let's not forget the "Pickle Juice" game to open the 2000 season.

Of course the ALL-TIME favorite would have to be the 1980 NFC Championship "Ice Break" win. Wilbert Montgomery got them going with a breakout run and the Birds dominated the cowgirls all day.

"Beat dallas" Week...Holidays are so much fun!

O>O>O>O>O> Go Eagles!

and a Happy Beat Dallas week to you too.

This week should celebrate more than 44-6 (though that was real nice)...we should celebrate all our coqboys dismantlings

Or who could forget stopping Emmitt Smith, not once, but twice on back to back goaline runs.... I can still hear Merrill Reese, "And they stop him again!!!"

Or the kneel down game when Buddy stuck it to Landry!

Happy "Beat Dallas Week" to you all well!

I wish I could play little league now. I'd be way better than before.

The two games that pop out for me are the 34-10 whipping of the Eagles in the 1992 playoffs and the 30-11 whipping of the Eagles in the 1995 playoffs. Both victories eventually led to a Superbowl Trophy for the Cowboys.

Until recently, beating the Philadelphia Eagles was not any different than beating the Arizona/St Louis Cardinals when they were in the division.

If I recall that was in 1995. Too bad for Philly they lost 4 weeks later to Dallas in the playoffs. Dallas went on to win their 5th Superbowl that year. I wonder which fans were happier on January 28th. lol

Back to you! I can only hope the Eagles destroy the Cowgirls this week. I live in Dallas and I am surrounded by Cowgirl fans at all times. Lets just say when the Eagles win, it's a good week and I have braggin rites until they play again. But when they lose, Oh Boy, is it painful. Go Eagles!

There's always a "Beat dallas" Week scrooge around. You cowgirl trolls only make this week more merry by rolling out the 5 SB titles defense.

5 Superbowls are what they are...so you can go ahead a reminisce about the good ole days of "Beat dallas" Weeks gone by...long gone by because in order to win a SB you have to win in the playoffs...it's been a LONG TIME since you've had one of those memories.

I would imagine that it's painful to be around cowgirl fans at anytime.

You guys were bringing up the past long before I even begin posting on this thread. You guys mention a playoff win in 1980 so I mention playoff wins in 1992 and 1995.

"Arizona Cardinals huh????"

Until Buddy Ryan came along us Cowboys' fans did not think about the Eagles anymore than we thought about the Cardinals. The whole Bounty Bowl and our dislike for Buddy Ryan and the attitude he brought to your team is what started our dislike for the Eagles. Until then we just thought of you guys as cellar dwellers along with the Cardinals. It is what is.

Glad to see you want to share in our "Beat dallas" holiday.

One of my earliest memories of observing this week was the 1974 MNF game at the Vet. It was Bill Bergey's first playing game after being traded from Cincy.

In a close game Bergey caused a fumble that Joe "Big Bird Lavender returned 96 yards for the winning TD. "Follow That Bird"

Dallas D probably thought they were playing the Philadelphia Montgomerys.
Cause the only part of Wilbert they saw was his back.
