I think a lot went in the Eags favor today...but I also think the Eags did dominate the gnats. great showing today but Oakland is still firmly etched in my memory. 13-9 lost to Raiders means season's over boys....we're just fighting for draft status now. |

its hard to get up for 8 preseason games. the raiders game was the fluke imo. which giants are they is a good question too? the one that won in dallas and started 5-0, or the team that has been basically blown away in 3 straight. Any Given Sunday, man. I remember a year when we beat the 49ers 44-10. We looked like a SB team that day but didn't make the playoffs. The 49ers went on to win it all. Let's just take it one game at a time. |

good point...I was hoping this game would give a good showing of what this team really is...but I'm not sure we played one of the better teams in the NFC today. cant gauge anybody except new orleans right now. look at arizona, lost at home to SF and Carolina. we have the same shot as everybody else as long as we show up each week for the season. i think home field is gonna be big in the nfc this year. im a falcons fan tomorrow night. try to figure this out...gnats totally dominate the raiders...raiders beat the birds...birds totally dominate gnats... u know the reason? one the raiders were up for the game after the gnats thumping...but AR lost the game with idiotic desire to stay with the pass...today was what should have happened to the raiders if we run the ball.. It's a good thing you're not a player Merv. Players need to have short memory. I believe we're more of what we showed today. Our o-line is getting better and so is Macnabb's rythm with the receivers. November is here baby... and nobody plays better in november than the eagles. The giants are are a fraud. We donot negotiate with T.O.rists! |

looked good today, but I'm worried about the clock time. I mean maybe the birds are a team that only needs the ball for a short time to score. But I don't know if this D can't hammer teams. As usual this D has a very hard time with the idea of 3 and out. |

Good point. However, you prepare differently for each opponent. The only memory I'd like to preserve is Andy Reid's so that he calls a balance game as he did today... And if andy did that vs the raiders, you wouldn't have that sour taste in your mouth. We donot negotiate with T.O.rists! |

Giaders. We can stink out the joint totally. We can look like one of the top very best in the league. This has been true over the past 3 or 4 years years and has resulted in the ups and downs of the fans and the just over .500 record we have achieved in that time. If we make the playoffs (which if today is evidence we are a lock, if the Raiders/Skins performances are the evidence, looks shaky) and can play consistently at our best, we could do it. But most of the real world evidence says no we will not. But even blind dogs find a bone every now and then. They can smell it and they do it. We have had more than one. Every team has looked like a bad smelly turd against a team as bad as the Raiders? If so, this league is worse than I expected and is on its way to being a NBA league. To be perfectly honest, I do think that is what is happening. Check the birds record over the past three years and most still have them at least in the top ten if not better. Not sure what you mean here. We crushed zona last year - they beat us in the playoffs to go to the superbowl. We crushed the steelers - they won the superbowl. Things happen. Now if recent history holds to form - the eagles will have a better second half record than first. If that happens this year we will win the division. I'm not afraid to go into minny or n'orleans with our "o". I'm hoping for an Eagles-Saints NFC Championship game. We owe them a few.

| Agreed, but in a weak NFC East and a weaker NFC in general they can make the playoffs. The Giants are fading. The Bears as well. We'll see how the Cowboys measure up but they aren't setting any records either. NO, Minn, maybe Arizona.. Atlanta ?? The Eagles don't have to run thru Denver, NE, Indy to get to the playoffs so there is hope. They are madly inconsistent as you so correctly point out but against consistently bad competition they might do ok. |

| The Giants team that won in Dallas had everything break their way that night. I'm not taking away from the Eagles win but the giants were way over rated. The Eagles are a good team, just like all the sports people said in the pre season. Most people picked the Eagles or Giants to win the division, conference or Super Bowl. |
