| Who ever told that story about how my budies die on augst 9 Did not tell the philly inq the right story. When I get an audince to listen to me and I find the dog handler that was in my humve that night I will tell a story of what realy happened... I am verey pissed off I suffer from sever ptsd and because I was in B company and not from A company in philly the VA thinks I am only 30% disabled. When I know, I suffer from more than ptsd I have lung condistion and I suffer from chronic lowere back pain. Here is the kicker I am married I have a baby girl I still live at home with my mom and dad godbless them thank you so much. Cause I live at home my parents bills are adding up because they take care of me and my baby. My wife go'es to work every day M to F and I stay home with my baby girl and the only thing that keeps me from balwing my eyes out every day is two happy pills that va gives me wich my six month supply is about to run out. I wanted to move out of my parents house when I came home from the tour,but its not possible with the help I am getting. When the VA sendes you a request fourm for housing and substince and you give a amount thats needed for were you live and they send you a letter back saying that your only intiled to 30% cause thats what your dissabilty is. I go this friday to the one in coatesville for my compensation and pension exam I can't wait for them to diney me again it's going to be so much fun asking for one thing and them doing another well they got exrays last time I was there. This time I want a cat scane If I do not get one I am going public to any one who will listen to me in the media. OIF 3 vet V-SQUAR 2nd plt 2nd sq 04-05 |

Vac, Nobody is going to be able to tell the story as good as a guy in 2nd or 3rd squad who was there. That being said, the enemy of the perfect is the good. Here's what I mean: if you want everything that happens in Iraq to be reported perfectly down to the last detail, nothing's going to get reported. Ever. We are the only ones who can say what we experienced, but we are not reporters. In other words, if we hold out for perfection, none of our stories are going to get told at all. At least someone is taking an interest in what we did and trying to get it right, and trying to learn from the experiences we had. August 9th was one day of many. So was August 6th. We (including you!) did a lot of good stuff on other days while we were there. Don't forget that! It's not my job to tell you what to do anymore, and I don't want to. I can tell you're hurting and it's a big enough hurt that you can't handle it all by yourself. All I can do for you is offer advice: Stop smoking pot, it's not worth the baggage it comes with. I know you were once pretty religious, try to reconnect with that, because it gave you strength in combat in Iraq and it will probably help you in the fight you're in now. I know you're angry: find a purpose in it (that's up to you). We've all been through a lot together. Consider this as coming from someone who would have risked his life for you, and I'm pretty sure that you would have done the same for me. So if I'm off base or out of line, I'm sorry, but at least you know it's coming from the right place. If you still have my number, give me a call offline. Tony |
